Welcome to Luz Da Vela!
Our story began in the beautiful coastal town of Albufeira, Portugal, where we opened a roadside shop selling handcrafted candles. We poured our hearts and souls into creating unique scents and designs that captured the essence of our seaside surroundings. However, our dream was abruptly disrupted when a devastating flood swept through the town, destroying our beloved shop.
Determined to persevere, we made the bold decision to leave our home in Portugal and start anew in the United States. With a renewed sense of purpose and passion, we set up our candle-making operation once again, this time with even more determination and drive.
Now, from our new home in the U.S., we continue to create candles that reflect our love for nature and our commitment to quality craftsmanship. Each candle is carefully hand-poured using only the finest ingredients, ensuring a clean and long-lasting burn.

Our Ingredients

Our Process
We take great care in handcrafting each candle and concrete vase to ensure that every product is of the highest quality and reflects our dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail.
To create our luxury candles, we start by selecting the finest ingredients, including premium soy wax, high-quality essential oils, and phthalate-free fragrance oils. We carefully measure and blend these ingredients to create the perfect fragrance combination, ensuring that each candle has a captivating scent that will fill your space with warmth and ambiance.
Next, we prepare our concrete vases by mixing a special blend of concrete and other chemical-free additives to create a durable and stylish container for our candles. Each vase is carefully poured and molded by hand, then oven-made to allow a full set on the molding process. This allows us to create unique shapes and designs that complement the aesthetic of our candles.
Once the concrete vases are set and cured, we begin the candle-making process by heating the soy wax to the optimal temperature and carefully pouring it into the vases. We then add the fragrance oils and insert the natural cotton wicks or cherry wood wicks, ensuring that each candle burns evenly and cleanly.
After the candles have cooled and set for their 2 month hardening process, we inspect each one to ensure that it meets our strict quality standards. Finally, we hand-package each candle in our signature packaging, ready to be enjoyed in your home or given as a thoughtful gift to someone special.
